Hey there, My name is Dave Sanatore and Fight Lure Co has been a dream of mine since I was a kid in high school wood shop. I spent hours & hours turning poppers on a lathe and selling them to friends in our surf fishing club. Designing & producing lures that I wanted to fish has always been in the back of my mind. I grew up fishing with my dad who was mainly a sit and wait bait fisherman & I was the kid running and gunning the bays and sand flats of long island using traditional wood plugs & bucktails. To say we had different goals would be an understatement! I wasn't out there to relax, I was out there to cover ground and catch fish! 

That run and gun attitude has found its way into Fight Lure Co. When I started designing the lures a few years ago (mainly in my head, on napkins & scraps of paper) I knew a few things that weren’t negotiable for me. The lures would cast well, be built to take a beating & above all have great action. These aren’t your typical northeast surf plugs Danny’s, Darters, Little Neck Poppers, Etc. There are so many talented producers of these plugs already & while I love and respect the tradition of it all its just not a direction I wanted to go.

Starting in 2018 I went down multiple rabbit holes on YouTube and found a few guys from Australia filming fishing for aggressive species such as GT’s, Kingfish & Yellowtail. I fell in love with that style of fishing and the lures they were using. Big stickbaits that slash through the water and hold in heavy current & huge poppers that call fish up from the depths. At that same time stickbaiting tuna was gaining popularity here on the east coast. Then it hit me, what about blending the two and bring that style of lure & fishing here to fish side by side with the old guard traditional plugs. Ultimately making our first lure the WARPTH a stickbait/glidebait hybrid.

Keeping lure making traditions of the past alive while at the same time bringing them into the modern world. Each lure is shaped by someone who cares, each one is a bit different and that is what makes them unique. In a world where mass production is so common it’s important for us to know that we are putting something out into the world that’s a bit different and for lack of a better term … has more soul.
